A Choo - it's allergy season

A choo!
What is your allergy trigger? Pollen. Dust. Pet dander. Hay fever sufferers know all too well the relentless symptoms of a runny nose, watery eyes, and itchy skin.  But it’s not just people with hay fever who suffer at this time of the year. Those diagnosed with asthma, eczema, food allergies and anaphylaxis can also experience heightened symptoms.

Allergic disease is on a dramatic rise in Australia. While there are many theories, no one is quite sure of the reason why.

The best medicine for anyone who suffers from allergies is prevention. As one of my patients said, “It took a while but now my spring garden is free from pollen producing plants that trigger my allergic rhinitis.”

Other common triggers include dust, dust mites, mould, chemical fumes, and smoke.

But if allergy symptoms are new to you, do not self-diagnose.

Allergy signs and symptoms are also common to other medical conditions. See your doctor for a professional diagnosis and the correct symptom relief treatment.
