How we work

The Wishing Well Clinic delivers outstanding, accredited, comprehensive medical care throughout the south west of Western Australia. Our clinic is located in Capel.

Appointments

Please call to make an appointment. Same day appointments are sometimes available.

But if not, our friendly receptionist can put you on that day's waiting list. Please advise the receptionist if you're making an appointment for:

  • 6 week old check and immunisation for babies

  • Women's health check (e.g. pap smear)

  • Men's health check

  • Minor procedures (e.g. removal of minor lesions, repair of minor wounds,  sutures removed)

  • Extended care consultations (e.g. depression, weight management, diabetes management, sexual health, asthma)

  • Paperwork your doctor needs to complete

  • More than one health issue to discuss in detail

  • 4-year old Health Check

  • 45-49 year old Health Check

  • 75+ Health Check

  • Driver's medical

  • Pre-employment medicals

  • Dive medical

Payment

Are you eligible for bulk-billing?

Only pensioners, Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA),  those with valid concession cards and children under the age of 16 are automatically bulk billed. Otherwise, fees are payable after your consultation.  (View the list of consultation fees at reception or enquire about the fee before you book. )You can pay using:

  • Cash

  • EFTpos

  • Credit card (Visa and Mastercard only)

Cancellations

A minimum of 2 hours notice is appreciated if you need to cancel your appointment.

That way we can make the appointment available for another patient in need. (Failure to cancel at least 2 hours prior to your appointment will incur a fee.)

Confidentiality

All your medical records and conversations with your doctor remain confidential.

So speak openly with your doctor. View him or her as your health care partner. Keep your health the best you can for you.  

Doctor access

Sometimes you need to speak to your doctor. Explain to the receptionist the nature of your call.

If your doctor is not available to speak to you, the receptionist will take a message. Your call will be returned at the doctor's earliest convenience.

Repeat prescriptions

All repeat prescriptions will require an appointment with your GP.

Test results

You are always welcome to phone us for your blood and other test results.

If your doctor requires a follow-up appointment the receptionist will advise you.

Reminders

We send out reminders for scheduled follow-ups and assessments to remind you to come back in.

Home visits

Home visits are only for the critically ill and those unable to attend the nearest local Wishing Well Clinic due to acute or chronic illness.

Patients are telephoned by the treating doctor for triage. Advice may be provided along with valuable self care management before the doctor’s actual visit.

Outside business hours

When you call your Wishing Well Clinic out-of-business-hours, a recorded message will direct you to the doctor on call.

Alternatively you can call the After Hours GP helpline 1800 022 222 or contact the emergency department of your nearest hospital or health campus.

Your rights

We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or the receptionist.

NO Smoking policy

The Wishing Well Clinics have a NO smoking policy.

Please do not smoke within or around the buildings.
